We have just heard that a brand new Rolf Harris portfolio of works, simply called ‘The Collection 2012’ will be released in the next few weeks and the trade (picture galleries who sell to the public) will be viewing these new pieces for the first time on Tuesday 7th February 2012.

Limited Edition by Rolf Harris

I have heard there will be 13 limited edition print images & these which will appear as on paper & on canvas editions & some of these will also appear as ‘deluxe’ canvas, which are larger that the regular canvas.

We have heard there will be: a tiger image, an image of Uluru, aka ‘Ayers Rock,’ a beach scene & a London scene, likely Big Ben or Parliament, amongst others.

Rolf’s collection is eagerly anticipated every year and the excitement is building once again.

Gallery owners will get a chance to meet and speak with Rolf Harris on the 7th February and to hear about his latest inspirations. The buying public will be able to purchase/pre-order early to mid February.

Thank you

James

Rolf Harris Limited Edition

June 30, 2011 on 6:18 pm | In Rolf Harris | 1 Comment

The release of the first ever collection of Rolf Harris Prints, well, the first Rolf Harris Limited Edition prints, was eagerly anticipated by his many many thousands of fans, even though Rolf Harris at the time wasn’t particularly well known as a serious artist. Generations of people in the UK had grown up watching him paint his huge Australian paintings on TV with house paint and a big brush and bucket, but these were seen more as visual trickery and entertainment than as art…the famous line of course being ‘can you tell what it is yet?’…

… He was famous, and universally loved, but as an entertainer above all, his vast and many-faceted career having included the release of thirty or so albums, an appearance at Glastonbury, and a pretty constant TV presence since his arrival in the UK from Australia in the 60s.

What his public weren’t really aware of was the fact that Rolf was always an artist. As a child his one ambition was to paint pictures. In fact he initially came to England, not to pursue a glittering media career, but to learn to paint.

He attended Kennington Art Schools for a time, but it was only a chance meeting with fellow Australian and impressionist painter Hayward Veal that gave him real impetus. Rolf studied with Hayward for a time, and has painted in an impressionist style ever since.

Rolf Harris has never stopped painting in all of the intervening years, and his practised ease and expertise is clear to see in his work. As that first collection of Rolf Harris Prints showed, he is a man in full control of his artistic powers.

Those first prints sold very quickly to Rolf’s fans, and as he returned his focus to painting, presenting a TV program Rolf on Art, his popularity and the public’s awareness of him as a painter grew. Rolf Harrisoriginalpaintings have sky rocketed in value over the past few years and are now in high demand, this feed the market for Rolf Harris Limited Edition Prints which are now highly collectible, and vastly popular, the best thing about them being the revelation that Rolf really can paint!

Rolf Harris - New Collection for 2010 - ‘A Life In Art’

How apt that it should have such a title as this: ‘A Life In Art’ no artist has done more to capture the great British Public’s attention over the years with art than him.

From the 60s right throughout the 2000s and beyond, he has been a stalwart of British TV, from Rolf’s Cartoon club to the much loved Animal Hospital!

Rolf’s desire to paint is clearly as strong as ever and on a personal note, I believe the images that are being published as limited editions are getting stronger and stronger as the years pass.

His love of Elvis Presley also reappears in this new collection, & ‘Elvis Entertains’ shows the king at work during his 1968 comeback. No doubt Rolf wanted to get up there and do his ‘jeg the peg’ (jake the peg) routine lol!

LBC London 97.3 FM, Rolf Harris drops it to meet Steve Allen

September 9, 2010 on 10:38 pm | In Famous Artists, Radio & Podcast, Rolf Harris | No Comments

Legendary Australian painter Rolf Harris could recently be heard on London’s airwaves as he popped in to talk to another legend, London’s own sharped tongued DJ Steve Allen

For some who is by now collecting his pension, Steve Allen, I mean Rolf Harris :) certainly is looking very spritely and is appearing all over the place, from gallery events to media appearances

Wobble board always in tow!

thanks

James
