  • Artist Caroline Shotton has released some new artwork

    Exciting news Caroline Shotton fans! She has released some new art again!

    These pieces available to preorder until the end of March/beginning of April when the art will be officially released but by this time some of the pieces will have already sold out!! That’s how hot Caroline Shotton is right now.

    There are five new pieces, some following on from previous popular themes and colours; all have humorous titles, like all of Caroline’s previous limited editions.

    We expect ‘On the Mooove’ to be very popular as it themed similarly to previous releases “Handle With Care” and “Special Delivery” which sold out very quickly indeed. Also ‘So In Love With Moo’ has the same colour themes (red) as “I Give My Heart To Moo” and her four Autumn 2008 releases including “Moo Too” & “Two & A Calf” we expect it to be just as popular!

    Caroline’s art has been ridiculed by art critics in the past & yet she continues to show that the opinion of the art buying public & not theirs is paramount. Kind hearted, she has previously released art for charity and today most of her art sells out within weeks of publication.

    I believe it is the mixture of her signature endearing cows, humorous titles & all her limited editions being hand-embellished (making them as close as possible to the original) that make her art so unique and collectable with the British public. Added to the fact that we Brits have a natural affinity to the countryside and to the idyllic image of the English countryside that the diary cow is part of.

  • Artist Lorenzo Quinn Must be very ‘handy’ to have around!

    European sculptor Lorenzo Quinn is currently one of the nation’s most popular sculpture artists. His latest releases, simply called the ‘Resin Collection,’ feature the theme of hands. Lorenzo’s decision on this was based on his belief that sculptures are made to be ‘touched’ & hands are very emotive & can represent many different and opposing emotions.


    ‘I Give You My Soul’ by Lorenzo Quinn

    The sculpture above is very emotive, the butterfly represents the soul being given away, the hands are releasing it, or gently capturing it. The hands are so well sculpted they look almost real, and I could imagine having this piece on a windowsill where light would shine through and make the colours on the butterfly change as you pass by.


    ‘First Love by’ Lorenzo Quinn

    ‘First Love’ reminds us simply of our first love. Lorenzo created this to show the delicate balance of emotions and how easily one could topple the rest. I think it is brilliant how he has made the sculpture look so poised and balanced.

    I love this piece because the egg is something very symbolic. To some it may represent fertility, or of the age old question of which came first: the chicken or the egg? The hands inside make me think of the first contact of parent and child & there are so many other different meanings a viewer could conjure up while admiring this piece. This is such an emotive piece and the idea of it is beautiful.

    A little known fact aboue Lorenzo Quinn is that his collector base is not exclusive to the UK or Europe, as he exhibits his art in 5 different continents, which shows his exceptional talent to break into so many markets.

  • Timmy Mallett – from ‘Im A Celebrity, Get me…’ to the art gallery?!

    In our previous blog on Timmy Mallett, we delved a little into his past & how his love for art began many years ago. Today we will start to comment on his actual art work.

    After his stint on British TV’s “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” 2008, Timmy made the decision to concentrate more on his art & the process of choosing which of his painting he felt where good enough to produce limited edition prints from.

    Many remain surprised to hear that he paints & on viewing his art, are even more surprised at the depth of his artistic talent.


    ‘A Day At The Seaside’ limited edition by Timmy Mallett

    I do feel his painting style juxtaposes his zany personality and wacky dress sense because he often uses sombre colours in his pieces & typically he paints ‘traditional landscape’ subject matter: such as fields, streets and houses. However, I can see that he subtly adds unorthodox colours to his art, brightening up pictures and giving them a somewhat unique ‘Timmy’ style.


    ‘Tower Bridge’ limited edition by Timmy Mallett

    ‘Tower Bridge’ is one such piece. He has added purple and blue as well as a little green, which help accentuate the reflections on the river Thames. I love what he has done with the colouring here, making the piece vivid & eye catching despite being quite dark. To see its true greatness you need to be in its presence as a computer screen can not do it justice.


    ‘Oh To Be In England’ Original painting by Timmy Mallett

    Again ‘Oh To Be In England’ is another painting you need to be in front of to truly appreciate & take in. Clearly painted with the use of oil, the cliffs are built up with thick paint and the sea and the sky have there own unique colours & textures. As you gaze more at the picture you notice the castle on the landmass and to the right of it your eye flickers over to the church on its right. A few more minutes starring & the seagull then comes into view, what a subtle use of white paint to create the little fella. As an artwork it is superb & clearly Timmy has a talent that has only just started to come to fruition.

  • Artist Paul Kenton paints London, Paris, Sydney & back to the City Of London again!

    Good news, Paul Kenton’s new art work is now available for sale and how amazing does it look!

    There are 5 new pieces and once again he has done something slightly different:
    New colour schemes, new views for his first releases of 2010!


    ‘Harbour Lights’ limited edition box canvas by Paul Kenton

    ‘Harbour Lights’ is his first Australian picture and it looks brilliant. The colours he has used are so different to his older pieces, yet it really suits this painting of Sydney Harbour. I just love the colours in the sky and the reflections of colours in the water. Partly in keeping with his old style of black lines, to show movement, he has painted the bridge, most likely with his trusty screwdriver! This really makes the bridge stand out against the background.


    ‘Westminster Walk’ limited edition box canvas by Paul Kenton

    ‘Westminster Walk’ once again shows Kenton’s diversity in his use of another intriguing array of colours. The piece is silver-grey with just a dash of pink to brighten the sky. His signature style once again shows through in his use of bold black lines but there is also more focus on the background, notice his subtle painting of reflections in the Thames river.


    ‘Cafe Au Lait’ limited edition box canvas by Paul Kenton

    Paul has really diversified his style this time, if you look at “Cafe au Lait” you will see that it is completely different to “Cafe Rouge” or “Cafe de Paris” because he has not used his signature style; thick, bold black lines and little colour. In this piece, the background buildings have been beautifully painted in great detail, and the people in the cafe are lightly painted without being totally filled out, with no use of bold black lines & yet instantly recognizable as Paul Kenton’s work.


    ‘London Red’ limited edition box canvas by Paul Kenton

    ‘London Red’ in my opinion is the focal piece of the New Releases & I think is his largest box canvas to date. The piece is a marvel to behold in the flesh, & signifies how far Paul has come as an artist – combining all his strengths and signature colouring, the London Eye in the centre right of the picture is the ‘white’ icing on the cake. We will blog more on this piece shortly.
